Vanessa Williams Joins Desperate Housewives

BURBANK: Vanessa Williams, most recently seen on ABC’s axed Ugly Betty, will join season seven of Desperate Housewives this fall as Wisteria Lane’s newest resident.

The multi-talented star is currently on Broadway in Sondheim on Sondheim and recently co-starred in Disney’s Hannah Montana: The Movie. She also has a new album out.

On the ABC show, her character is expected to "wreak havoc" on the lives of the women of Wisteria Lane, ABC said. She joins the returning cast of Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria Parker, Ricardo Antonio Chavira, Doug Savant, Kyle MacLachlan, Brenda Strong, James Denton, Kathryn Joosten, Charlie Carver, Joshua Logan Moore, Kendall Applegate, Madison de la Garza and Mason Vale Cotton.
