PARIS/COPENHAGEN: Banijay International is presenting the interactive reality format Dilemma, which is slated to premiere in France on M6’s digital terrestrial channel W9 on May 20, for the international market.

Dilemma was developed and produced by Alexia Laroche-Joubert’s ALJ Productions, part of the Banijay Entertainment Group, and was created in cooperation with the Banijay Creative Factory unit. The series features contestants who are isolated from the outside world and housed together for eight weeks, along with the show’s co-host. The winner will be the last person remaining after successfully facing a series of challenging personal dilemmas. In addition to the daily stripped show, the series will also air in a weekly prime-time slot and be available through a constant feed on DTH platform CanalSat. The online video service Dailymotion will be showcasing footage from the 10 cameras that are constantly shooting inside the house.

Francois de Brugada, the executive VP at Banijay Entertainment, commented, “Dilemma is the start of something fresh and different in broadcast content. It has strong appeal to a whole new, inquisitive generation of viewers who are keen to watch the outcome of events every minute of every day—taking control of the cameras to watch the action they want to see for themselves.”

Karoline Spodsberg, the managing director of Banijay International, added, “Dilemma is another example of Banijay’s creative and commercial forces. Putting a brand new reality format on air in these times is an achievement in it self. With Banijay International we are ready to bring this strong new format to buyers all over the world. This is a show that will work anywhere. We all face dilemmas in our lives. It is going to be fascinating to see how the contestants react to a constant barrage of soul searching problems that they have to resolve using their hearts and their heads.”
