TLC Slates 2010-11 Highlights

NEW YORK: TLC, which posted double-digit growth year-on-year in 2009, has more than 47 new and returning series for its 2010-11 grid.

Kate Gosselin maintains a spot on the network in a new series, Twist of Kate, where she steps into the lives of other women and moms. Kate Plus 8 will follow Gosselin and her lively brood. Sarah Palin also has a reality series, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, and chef John Besh fronts Inedible to Incredible.

In the family genre are Carpio Family Project, a follow-up to the TLC special Multitude of Multiples, and Quintuplet Surprise, about a couple learning the ropes of parenting five newborn babies and a 6-year-old. Spotlighting family businesses are American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior, which follows the action at Orange County Choppers; Auctioneers (working title), going behind the scenes of one of the busiest auction houses in the U.S.; and Homemade Millionaire (working title), in which Kelly Ripa tries to make aspiring entrepreneurs’ dreams come true.

There are also series that spotlight people with interesting lives, among them Police Women of Memphis. In the food genre is Food Buddha, a two-part special featuring chef Rodelio Aglibot. Cupcake Sisters (working title) and Mega Bites round out the food slate.

Titles in the wedding and fashion arena include Battle of the Wedding Designers (working title), a competition series; Down the Aisle in Style (working title), following bridal transformations; and Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta and Say Yes to the Dress: Big Bless.

"The fact that TLC has 15 series delivering over one million viewers shows that our content is connecting," said Eileen O’Neill, the president and general manager of TLC. "Our audience comes to us for compelling real life stories and inspiring characters that they can’t find anywhere else on television. And next year, we’re giving viewers more of what they love by bringing back beloved personalities, investing in returning favorites and unveiling unexpected new series."
