beActive Invests in Sofia’s Diary Creator

LONDON/LISBON: Portugal-based beActive Entertainment has made an investment in multiplatform producer CR Entertainment, whose credits include the Bebo original series Sofia’s Diary.

CR says it secured a "significant" investment from beActive Entertainment, which will be used to expand its in-house writing and development teams. Its slate current includes the Irish online TV-style magazine series, Beat Generation, as well as Aisling’s Diary, the  Irish teen series on RTE that has been licensed to SVT in Sweden, ABC in Australia and format rights have been sold to MIO.TV in the US.

Nuno Bernardo, the managing director of beActive Entertainment, commented: “This partnership with CR Entertainment will allow both companies to enlarge the territories and regions where they operate and also provide a platform to develop and produce truly European co-productions."
