Vacation with Derek Scores Nick Australia Slot

TORONTO: Shaftesbury Sales Company has licensed its new family TV movie Vacation with Derek—based on the hit series Life with Derek—to Nick Australia.

The special, which Shaftesbury is highlighting at MIPTV, reunites Ashley Leggat and Michael Seater and is directed by award-winner Michael McGowan. “Shaftesbury is delighted to bring Vacation with Derek to audiences in Australia and to be in business with Nick, Australia,” said Shane Kinnear, the VP of sales, marketing and digital media at Shaftesbury Films. “Vacation with Derek is a terrific extension of this very popular series.”

The TV movie, produced for Family Channel, follows the McDonald-Venturi family as the kids are forced to spend part of their summer vacation with their grandmother at her lodge. So You Think You Can Dance Canada season one winner Nico Archambault guest stars as Jesse, a waiter and aspiring dancer at the lodge where the McDonald-Venturi’s take their vacation.
