Fireworks Adds to Multiplatform Portfolio

LONDON: Five new digital drama properties have been added to the catalogue of Fireworks International, which will head to MIPTV with a variety of fiction and nonfiction programming to debut.

Fireworks acquired the digital properties Girl Number 9, Riese, Dimensions, Splatter and Pink: The Series. Girl Number 9 is a six-part thriller with a moral dilemma at its core. The sci-fi fantasy series Riese has two chapters, shot in HD, alongside a website, ARG game and tie-in iPhone game. Dimensions is a sci-fi thriller based on myths and legends of Malaysia. Splatter is from renowned horror filmmaker Roger Corman and stars Corey Feldman. The graphic novel-style drama Pink: The Series was shot entirely in HD.

These new multiplatform properties join the Fireworks slate that already includes the family drama series Heartland, which returns to MIPTV in its fourth season, along with a two-hour TV movie special. Two brand-new TV movies from the Shadow Island Mysteries franchise will also be available. There’s also the detective drama Republic of Doyle, recently commissioned for a second season by Canada’s CBC.

In the way of factual content, Fireworks is presenting the wildlife doc series Wildlife Rescue Africa; State Parole, a reality crime series; and the new docu-series Fly Girls, which follows five flight attendants on Virgin America.
