Outright Format Gets French Treatment

LONDON: Outright Distribution has notched up another format deal for the factual-entertainment show The World’s Strictest Parents, with France’s M6 signing up for a local version.

M6 has licensed the show for five hour-long episodes, produced by Endemol France. The original series was made for BBC Three by Shed Media’s Twenty Twenty. The finished sales for the British show are also continuing to prove strong, with Teva in France airing the first season and Discovery Latin America acquiring all episodes of both the U.K. and U.S. seasons. Liv Channel in Finland also bought seasons of the U.K. and U.S. versions. DR of Denmark went for the first U.K. series and TV Norge in Norway took the first two seasons of the U.K. series and season one of the U.S. treatment.

Tess Charman, the sales manager at Outright Distribution for France, said: “With Selling Houses and Supernanny continuing to be a strong success in France for both M6 and Outright, we are confident that WSP has all the elements required to be equally as appealing to the French audience.”
