MEG Formats Makes First Acquisition

LONDON: Media Entertainment Group’s (MEG) newly launched format division has picked up Miss Lingerie Model from New Zealand’s Comedia Productions, and has already scored an option for the show by Canadian indie Trio Orange for French-speaking Canada.

The acquisition represents the first stage in MEG’s recently launched strategy to build the company’s format catalogue and to coordinate growth in a variety of format genres across key territories. Miss Lingerie Model is an original idea from Comedia and Hi Five Productions. The prime-time entertainment reality format watches as five contestants compete by modeling lingerie for a winner’s title and prizes.

Sarah Coursey, the VP of MEG Formats, said of this first deal: “We are delighted to announce Miss Lingerie Model as the first acquisition in MEG’s new formats catalogue, slated for its worldwide launch at MIPTV. The appeal of the modeling competition genre has proved a hit the world over, and we strongly believe that Miss Lingerie Model cranks up the volume with just the right mix of fashion and personality. It is also testament to the universal appeal of Miss Lingerie Model that just one week after the ink has dried on the acquisition, it was picked up in Canada.”
