Temple Street Hires John Young

TORONTO: Temple Street Productions, the Canadian outfit behind Being Erica, has brought on John Young as its new managing director, effective immediately.

Young will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day business operations, while also looking for, evaluating and implementing corporate growth initiatives.  He will report to Temple Street’s co-presidents, Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier. Young previously spent six years as managing Director in the OMERS pension fund private equity group, with responsibility for managing and growing companies acquired by the group. Young has served on the boards of a number of public and private companies, including the board of Temple Street since December 2008.

“I am excited to join Temple Street as managing director, and look forward to the opportunity to help steer the company towards even greater success in the coming years,” he commented.

John’s hiring is a coup for Temple Street Productions,” said Schneeberg and Fortier. “He has considerable experience in corporate management and growth planning and implementation. Young shares the values and priorities that have contributed to Temple Street’s successes to date, and his tremendous energy, varied skill set, collaborative approach, established management skills and burly Scottish accent, make him an invaluable addition to the Temple Street management team. Young’s addition will allow for improved efficiencies and more focused strategic growth—helping Temple Street better achieve its long held goal of producing the highest quality, most engaging and exportable entertainment properties possible.”
