m4e Gives Greenlight for Yoko, Mo & Me

GRÜNWALD: German media company m4e has given the go-ahead for Yoko, Mo & Me, a co-production between Italy’s Rainbow S.p.A., Canada’s March Entertainment and Lucky Punch, a joint venture of Professor Gerhard Hahn and m4e.

The fantasy-adventure, a live-action/CGI hybrid, will be executive produced by Gerhard Hahn, the founder and CEO of Hahn Film. Negotiations with a German broadcaster as an additional co-producer will be completed shortly. The first season of 26 24-minute episodes is slated for 2011, and a second season of 26 episodes is already being planned.

Targeted at girls 6 to 12, the series will center on 12-year-old Milly, who must come to terms with life at a boarding school after her parents die an accidental death. Via a holographic game console inherited from her father, Milly turns into the figure of an elf in the mysterious world of Centopia, which Milly’s father initially created as a computer game. The peaceful ways of Centopia are threatened by the evil Queen Panthea, and it is up to Milly to save and secure Centopia. She switches back and forth between the real world and the fictitious land of Centopia.

Telescreen and Rainbow will take on worldwide distribution for the series, which will be presented for the first time at MIPCOM 2010.
