NATPE Relocates to Miami in 2011

LOS ANGELES: NATPE’s long-rumored move has been confirmed for 2011, with a relocation from the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas—the setting for the upcoming event January 25 to 27—to the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach.

The National Association of Television Programming Executives’ president and CEO, Rick Feldman, announced the move alongside new initiatives for the 2010 market and conference. NATPE’s last event in Vegas (where it has been since 2001, after a long history in New Orleans), will introduce the NATPE Navigator, allowing buyers, sellers and producers to identify and connect with potential business partners through personally arranged, structured introductions, moderated advanced round-robins, professionals-only pitch sessions and invitation-only events. For NATPE 2010 there is also an offer for a "substantial discount " on the registration fee. “The value of NATPE is opportunity,” commented Feldman. “These new initiatives have been designed to ensure that our attendees can achieve the highest possible results through enhanced relationship building, expanded connectivity and deal flow.”

Commenting on the move to Miami Beach in January 2011, Feldman said, “The opportunity to hold our Market & Conference at a prestigious venue such as the Fontainebleau is very attractive on a number of levels. Miami Beach is easily accessible to our attendees from the U.S., Europe and Latin America. The entire hotel with its new ocean view suites and a floor marketplace will be ours alone. NATPE will be under one roof in an environment that will provide unlimited possibilities for business being done in a most efficient and enjoyable manner."
