9 Story to Debut Two New Series

TORONTO: 9 Story Entertainment heads to MIPTV with the first completed episodes of two new projects to showcase: the kids’ reality series Survive This and the animated property Wibbly Pig.

Created by 9 Story and wilderness survival expert and filmmaker Les Stroud, Survive This was commissioned by YTV in Canada. The 13×22-minute series takes eight 14- to 16-year-olds into the wilderness to survive on their own for three weeks with no food, shelter, Internet or video games. Wibbly Pig, meanwhile, is a 52×10-minute animated comedy series co-produced with Wish Films and commissioned by CBeebies, TVO and Knowledge Network. The show features Wibbly, an inquisitive piggy who turns the simplest of daily tasks and activities into a comedy routine. Based on Mick Inkpen’s award-winning books, Wibbly Pig is set for delivery this fall. 9 Story Entertainment co-distributes the series with BBC Worldwide.

"We are proud to introduce these two new distinctive kids series to international broadcasters," said Vince Commisso, the CEO of 9 Story Entertainment. "We’ve made a firm commitment to bring these properties, and more, from development to production on schedule and we’re confident buyers will share in our excitement over the finished episodes we’re bringing to MIPTV."
