BUENOS AIRES: Sony Pictures Television’s 2waytraffic has scored further sales for its game-show format Minute to Win It, with new deals in Ecuador and Panama.

Gama TV in Ecuador commissioned 26 episodes of the show, which debuts on Sunday. The hour-long episodes are produced locally by Juan Zanelli. Giuliana Maiocchi serves as host. In Panama, Corporation Medcom Panama also went for 26 episodes. The local version will begin airing next year.

The game show has already been successful in a number of territories across Latin America. A second season recently debuted on Teledoce in Uruguay. Televisa in Mexico placed a 13-episode order to be produced by the broadcaster. The format is currently on air in Costa Rica (Teletica), Chile (TVN), Argentina (Telefé) and Peru (América TV), and will soon return in Colombia (Caracol).

Minute to Win It is a global phenomenon and Latin America is no exception,” said Carolina Sabbag, the director of format sales for Latin America, 2waytraffic. “As one of the most successful formats currently on air in the region, the show has become the highest rated weekend show in Peru and Uruguay, and ratings were so high in Argentina, that the broadcaster began airing the series twice a week."
