LOS ANGELES: The global distribution rights for a number of television movies, including romantic comedies as well as family- and holiday-themed content, have been acquired by MarVista Entertainment, which is taking the titles to Cannes next month.

Leading the slate is the Nickelodeon kids’ comedy Nicky Deuce, which was co-produced with MarVista. Starring iCarly‘s Noah Munck and The Sopranos‘ Steve Schirripa, the film focuses on a geeky teenager who is sent to spend the summer with his uncle in Brooklyn. A Second Chance, produced by Glen Pictures Production, is a family movie about a young girl who lands a spot in the National Gymnastics Competition.

At the market MarVista will also be promoting a trio of holiday titles, including Orchard House Movie’s March Sisters at Christmas, Synthetic Filmwerx’s A Perfect Christmas and Feifer Worldwide’s A Star for Christmas.

Fernando Szew, the CEO of MarVista, remarked: "International buyers have come to depend on MarVista for a broad selection of fresh, high-quality and engaging films for family audiences. Thanks to our production partners we are once again bringing a bounty of family-friendly titles to MIP and are looking forward to a very active market for MarVista."
