CANNES: Dance Dance Dance, a celebrity dance format from Talpa, has been licensed by RTL in Germany.

The series launched in September 2015 in the Netherlands on RTL4 and has since been commissioned for a second season. The format is also being adapted in China by Zhejiang Tangde.

RTL will be giving the show a German treatment, which will see local celebrities reenacting famous dance performances. The show uses new technology to mimic the original setting and there’s a synchronized backstage broadcast in the Dance Dance Dance app.

Maarten Meijs, the managing director of Talpa Global, said: “With the combination of incredible dancing and never-before-seen visual effects, we’re confident that Dance Dance Dance will perform well in Germany. We’re excited to be working together with RTL on such a fantastic project.”
