HBO Pulls the Plug on Vinyl

NEW YORK: HBO has reversed its decision to order a second season of the Martin Scorcese and Mick Jagger collaboration Vinyl.

HBO commissioned a second season of the show back in February after just one episode had aired. In April, the series lost its showrunner, Terence Winter. In a statement, the network said, “After careful consideration, we have decided not to proceed with a second season of Vinyl. Obviously, this was not an easy decision. We have enormous respect for the creative team and cast for their hard work and passion on this project.”

The show was set in the 1970s rock-and-roll scene in New York City. It was reportedly drawing in less than a million viewers per episode in its initial outing, despite positive reviews from critics.
