Entertainment One (eOne) has licensed the crime procedural The Detail and the drama series Designated Survivor to Channel 5 in the U.K.

The Detail centers on the work and personal lives of three female homicide investigators. The show’s cast is led by Angela Griffin (Coronation Street), Shenae Grimes-Beech (90210) and Wendy Crewson (Saving Hope). Designated Survivor stars Kiefer Sutherland as a lower-level cabinet member who becomes president after a catastrophic attack on the U.S. Capitol.

“We are delighted to see so many of our partners acquiring The Detail, and have no doubt that this female-led, contemporary police procedural will deliver prime-time success as it rolls out across the region,” said Dan Gopal, eOne’s executive VP of sales for EMEA, international distribution.

Katie Keenan, the VP, head of acquisitions for Channel 5 and VIMN UK, noted: “We are thrilled to be working with eOne in bringing these high-quality drama series, starring award-winning talent, to Channel 5’s portfolio of free-to-air services.”

eOne has also sold Mary Kills People to Fox Networks in the Middle East, Ziggo in the Netherlands and Movistar+ in Spain; Ice to Sony AXN in Germany, Switzerland and Austria as well as AMC Iberia/Multicanal in Spain and Portugal for Xtrm Channel; and Cardinal in Italy to LaF, the Feltrinelli pay-TV channel available on Sky.

“We are also immensely proud of our slate of returning series, with 12 shows coming back with new seasons in 2017/18,” added Gopal. “To see continued new deals for series including Designated Survivor, Mary Kills People, Ice and Cardinal is testament to the quality and variety of the eOne slate, and the audiences that those shows can help build with our broadcast and digital partners.”
