Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen Series Moves Forward at HBO

HBO has given a series order to Watchmen from Lost and The Leftovers EP Damon Lindelof.

The series is set in an alternate history where superheroes are treated as outlaws. Lindelof will serve as executive producer and writer. Among the cast members revealed are Regina King (The Leftovers, Jerry Maguire), Don Johnson (Miami Vice, The Other Woman), Tim Blake Nelson (Lincoln, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk), Louis Gossett Jr. (Boardwalk Empire, An Officer and a Gentleman), Adelaide Clemens (Parade’s End, The Great Gatsby) and Andrew Howard (The Brave, Taken 3).

HBO said that the series “embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.”

Watchmen is produced for HBO by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television, based on characters from DC.
