Zodiak Brings New Formats to MIPCOM

COPENHAGEN, October 2: Zodiak Television World will be armed
with ten new formats for international buyers at MIPCOM.

Reality fare includes the half-hour format Wanted:
Roommate,
which explores house hunting, as people young and old seek
to rent out rooms. It premiered earlier this year on Vox Germany, which has
just commissioned an additional 100 episodes of the series. The reality format Samba
United
offers the opportunity of a lifetime
to young Brazilian football talent. This 12×30-minute series finds promising
players and takes them to Europe to spend four months training with European
coaching methods; upon completion of the course, they will be pitted against a
world-class football club.

From Lighthearted Entertainment, Fight Knight is a new sports competition show where grudges and
rivalries are settled in a head-to-head, winner-takes-all duel. Each one-hour
episode sees two sets of contestants training with the “battle master” and
squaring off in the “ring of fire.”

The half-hour factual and lifestyle offering Time Doctor helps an overwhelmed person manage their life
better. It provides a guide to living a less stressful and demanding life and a
more functional day-to-day existence.

Also available at MIPCOM are the prime-time entertainment
formats Sounds of Saturday and Teen
Starz
, both of which follow the search for
musical artists; the sketch-comedy series Paracomedy; To Understand and Forgive, which has created a new genre of psychotherapy
docudrama; the detective show Who Killed J.C.; and Savage Cooking, where delicacies from one country are served in
another where they may be considered less than appetizing.
