Zodiak Bolsters Entertainment Group

CANNES: Saku Tuominen joins Zodiak Entertainment as the new chief creative officer of its entertainment group.

Tuominen will head up the entertainment central creative unit of Zodiak, reporting to Giorgio Gori, the senior VP. Tuominen was previously the chief creative officer of Zodiak Television Finland and a member of Zodiak’s creative unit, The Distillery. He has produced more than 100 television shows, including international hits such as Survivor and Strictly Come Dancing.

Gori commented, “We are delighted to appoint such a well-respected and charismatic creative leader to this important new position within Zodiak Entertainment. The success of new entertainment central creative unit is fundamental to the growth of our business. With Saku’s arrival we will start to create innovative, original formats with strong international appeal. The growth of our ground-breaking new programming portfolio will increase our presence in the U.K. and U.S. markets in the coming months.”

Tuominen said, “My goal is to build the most creative development unit in the TV industry. Television will change a lot in the coming years. This means that the way to develop shows has to change as well. We are aiming for programming that is not only simple and smart but also bold, loud and fresh. And we are not only developing TV formats but also looking for new ways to do business.”
