XYZnetworks Orders ITV Studios Format

SYDNEY: XYZnetworks’ The LifeStyle Channel has commissioned Granada Media Australia to produce a local version of ITV Studios’ Come Dine with Me format for a 2010 launch.

The 20×30-minute series goes into production immediately for rollout on The LifeStyle Channel in early 2010. The original British version has been airing on XYZnetworks’ LifeStyle FOOD channel. It follows amateur chefs competing against each other in hosting a dinner party for the other contestants over the course of five nights. At the end of the week, the contestant with the most points, as judged by their guests, wins a cash prize.

“Australians are obsessed with cooking and entertaining and we pride ourselves on understanding this country’s appetite for food media better than anyone else,” said Nicole Sheffield, the general manager of The LifeStyle Channel. “Come Dine With Me Australia is not only exciting for foodies, it’s exciting for all Australians. It is a format that gives people recipes and takes them into everyday Aussie homes.”
