By early next year, the platform will add more than 40 apps to its LIVE service. Many of the apps will require paid subscriptions in addition to the Xbox LIVE Gold subscription. Some are also only offered in their country of origin as well.

Among the new partners on board for apps are ARTE, Azteca, Globosat Muu, Gulli Replay, MTV, MyTF1, PBS, RAI TV, SBS and TV3. These will become available in early 2013. A number of apps are available starting today, including SkyDrive, CNET and SPORT1.
