World Cup Drives Q2 Gains at Univision

LOS ANGELES, August 4:
Univision Communications’ revenues were up 24.7 percent in the second quarter
to $634 million, delivering a pro forma profit of $116.6 million, a 38.2
percent gain, driven in large part by the Hispanic broadcaster’s coverage of
the World Cup.

Univision estimates that
the World Cup added some $84.5 million of incremental net revenue and an
estimated $4 million of incremental pro forma operating income before
depreciation and amortization.

Television revenues were
up 37.9 percent to $489 million, with an operating income before depreciation
and amortization of $191.1 million.
