Winners Announced for TV France International Export Awards

PARIS, December 11: The winners of the fourth annual TV France International Export
Awards, which honor the best in exported French television programming, were
unveiled yesterday evening in Paris.

In
the animation category, the 26×26-minute series Shuriken School, distributed and produced by Xilam Animation, beat out
nominees such as Fantastic Four, distributed by Taffy Entertainment and
produced by MoonScoop, Marvel and Cartoon Network with the participation of M6;
and the 52×26-minute Team Galaxy, distributed by Marathon International and
co-produced by Marathon Media, France 3, Jetix Europe, Rai and Mystery
Animation.

The
5×26-minute fashion-themed Signé Chanel claimed the award in the documentary category
over contenders such as They Filmed the War in Color: The Pacific War, distributed by 2001 Audiovisuel
and produced by Neria; and the The House of Saud, distributed by Arte France and produced by
Alegria. Distributed by Arte France and produced by Les Films d’ici, Signé
Chanel
is the
result of a collaboration between the Arte France Documentary Unit (Pierrette
Ominetti), Mademoiselle Agnès and Les Films d'Ici. Signé Chanel takes viewers behind the scenes of
each step in the creation of Chanel’s Haute Couture Collection, from designer
Karl Lagerfeld's initial sketches to the sale, to his customers, to the daily
work in the couture house. Arte France Distribution has sold the program to
date to more than 30 countries.

In the
fiction category, the 2×90-minute costume mini-series Lagardère won, beating out nominees such as
the 6×52-minute David Nolande, distributed by France Télévisions Distribution and produced by GMT
Productions; and the 2×90-minute Fatal Island, distributed by 2001 Audiovisuel and produced
by Rendez Vous Productions. Lagardère is distributed by 2001 Audiovisuel and produced by
Telfrance, with the participation of France 2, Canal + and the CNC.
