LONDON: Wayne Garvie is leaving his post as the managing director of content and production at BBC Worldwide, heading to a new role at ALL3MEDIA.

Helen Jackson, the director of the indies unit, will lead the business on an acting basis, and a permanent successor will be named in due course. Garvie joined BBC Worldwide in 2006, and prior to that was the BBC"s head of entertainment group.

John Smith, the CEO of BBC Worldwide, said: “Wayne has had an exemplary career at the BBC, including the last four years at BBC Worldwide. He goes with our gratitude for all he has done, particularly in establishing our international production base and taking fantastic shows such as Dancing with the Stars to the world. He leaves in place a very strong team to lead our content and production business while we search for a successor. We wish him the very best in pastures new.”

Garvie commented: "I have enjoyed wonderful times at the BBC. I feel especially proud and privileged to have been at Worldwide these last few years, and have been inspired by the leadership and challenge given to me by John.
