LONDON: The observational-documentary series Too Fat for Fifteen: Fighting Back has been picked up by UKTV’s Watch from Passion Distribution in a presale deal.

The 8×1-hour series follows the journey of a group of plus-sized teenagers who are fighting to drop pounds at a weight-loss school in North Carolina. Each child is challenged to lose weight or face serious health concerns. The show follows their quest to become average everyday teenagers.

Nicki McDermott, the acquisitions executive for lifestyle, said: “I’m delighted with this deal for Watch which consolidates the American banker titles that are absolutely central to the channel’s new proposition.”

Watch’s channel head, Paul Moreton added, "Too Fat For Fifteen: Fighting Back will be absolutely compelling viewing for Watch’s family audience, and a perfect partner for World’s Strictest Parents which has been a real hit. This is compelling programming that is guaranteed to deliver viewing spikes in 2011.”
