VOD Transactions Up 15 Percent

PORTLAND: There were 589 million video-on-demand transactions in the U.S. in June, according to Rentrak Corporation, reflecting a 15-percent year-on-year increase.

Rentrak, citing data from its OnDemand Essentials service, also reports that there was an average of 16.5 minutes of on-demand viewing per day per unique set top box last month, up by a minute and a half when compared to figures from May.

The market for free on-demand kids content showed a 7-percent increase since May, delivering more than 106 million transactions.
