Virgin Media to Launch On-Demand Channel

LONDON, February 8: Virgin Media, the rebranded NTL/Telewest
mobile, telephone, broadband and cable TV company, today unveiled Virgin
Central, a hybrid linear/on-demand channel offering up content from Buena Vista
International Television and Alliance Atlantis, among other providers.

Virgin Central is slated to launch February 20. Titles
available include Warner Bros.’ The OC, Nip/Tuck and West Wing; BBC’s Little Britain;
Buena Vista’s Grey's Anatomy, Alias, Criminal Minds, Extreme Makeover UK, Ghost
Whisperer
and Night Stalker; and Alliance Atlantis’s CSI: Crime Scene
Investigation
and CSI: Miami. Content will be updated regularly. The new channel
will complement Virgin Media's existing library of TV-on-demand entertainment,
which includes over 500 movies, highlights from the previous week's prime-time
schedule, classic series and music videos.

"Virgin Central will offer a feast of hit shows in one
place and is set to become the destination of choice for TV lovers,” said Steve
Burch, the president and CEO of Virgin Media. “By combining brilliant content
with the unrivalled versatility of our technology, we have created something
that no other company provides. Virgin Central will make TV-on-demand the
simple, compelling service it should be."

On the day of its relaunch as Virgin Media following NTL’s
merger with Telewest and subsequent acquisition of Virgin Mobile, the company
also announced plans to extend its reach nationally by rolling services out
into non-cable areas in 2007 to extend its reach to more than 97 percent of
British homes. Further, 15 stand-alone Virgin Mobile stores offering the
quadplay bundle will open throughout the U.K. this year.

The quadplay package, named VIP (Very Impressive Package),
delivers V+, the HD-enabled PVR; 10MB broadband; unlimited U.K. landline calls;
and a free TV mobile phone with 500 minutes of mobile airtime per month, 1,000
texts a month and a VIP bonus of £60 free airtime.

Burch commented: "We've been working towards this day
for a long time and the transformation of our business is already well
advanced. Virgin values are starting to permeate all aspects of our company,
from the culture to our product line up. Looking forward, we have a world of
opportunity before us. Consumers are ready for something genuinely different.
As a company and as individuals, their needs and aspirations will remain at the
heart of everything we do."

Richard Branson, the founder of the Virgin Group, added,
"Today's creation of Virgin Media sees a milestone in the history of the
media industry and cable in particular. For the first time there is a single
brand set to provide a more extensive range of television entertainment, broadband
and communication services than previously offered by anyone in the U.K. Our
transition to Virgin Media has been underway since last July and will continue
over the coming months, as we roll out an outstanding 21st century customer
experience in home entertainment and communications."

Virgin Media has almost 10 million customers across the
country (5 million cable, 4.5 million mobile, 250,000 virgin.net). Most of
Virgin Media's TV, broadband and home phone services are distributed across a
high-speed cable network which reaches 12.5 million households.
