Virgin America, NBC Universal Ink Deal for In-Flight Entertainment

BURLINGAME, July 13: The new U.S. airline Virgin America,
which plans to begin domestic service mid-summer, has reached a deal to feature
NBC Universal TV and film content on Red, its in-flight entertainment system.

Virgin America's Red system will offer its customers
pay-per-view movies, live TV via satellite, a wide array of audio music
entertainment, including the ability to compile individual audio play lists, a
selection of electronic games, and even meals on-demand. Content deals have
also been secured with Disney, Fox, Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. for
theatrical features.

Based in San Francisco, Virgin America will serve as many as
10 cities within a year of operation, and up to 30 cities within five years.

Virgin America's director of in-flight entertainment and partnerships. “NBC
Universal's creativity and large library of content fits perfectly in the Red
experience.”
