Video Interview: Hell on Wheels’ Anson Mount, Colm Meaney & Dominique McElligott

NEW YORK: The stars of the new AMC original series Hell on Wheels, Anson Mount, Colm Meaney and Dominique McElligott, sat down with World Screen to talk about their characters and the show, which premieres this Sunday in the U.S.

 

 

Produced by Entertainment One (eOne) in association with Endemol USA and Nomadic Pictures for AMC, the series is set against the backdrop of post-Civil War America and the building of the first transcontinental railroad. Mount (City by the Sea, Cook County) plays Cullen Bohannon, a former soldier who has set out to avenge the death of his wife. Meaney (Get Him to the Greek) stars as Thomas "Doc" Durant, a greedy entrepreneur who is taking full advantage of the changing times. McElligott (Moon) is Lily Bell, a new widow who is trying to make it in a man’s world.

Endemol Worldwide Distribution holds all TV distribution rights across Europe, with eOne handling all remaining territories, as well as worldwide rights for DVD/Blu-ray, VOD and digital distribution. Alongside its U.S. launch on AMC, the series is headed to Sundance Channel in Spain, Portugal and Central and Eastern Europe, as well as AB Droits in France, Antena 3 in Spain, TV Norge in Norway and CNBC-e in Turkey. Yesterday it was announced that Hell on Wheels will be launching in the U.K. in 2012 on TCM (Turner Classic Movies).
