VH1 Slates Series, Docs & Specials for Summer

NEW YORK: VH1 is adding to its Rock Doc franchise this summer, and has lined up a slate of new specials and celeb-reality series.

Kicking off on July 6, The Great Debate seeks to settle pop-culture disputes, answering questions such as, What really happened to Tony Soprano? and Who’s hotter: Ginger or Mary Ann? On July 27, The T.O. Show puts NFL star Terrell Owens in the spotlight, shadowing him in the off-season. Megan Wants a Millionaire, featuring Megan Hauserman of Rock of Love 2 and I Love Money in her quest to become the ultimate trophy wife, launches on August 2.

The latest installment in the VH1 Rock Doc franchise, Lords of the Revolution, gets under way on August 10. Airing as a five-part, one-hour series, Lords of the Revolution will celebrate the counterculture icons of the ’60s and ’70s. VH1 Storytellers: ZZ Top premieres on June 27, and will also air on VH1 Classic and Palladia on July 4.

Returning series include Tool Academy, back for a second season to watch once-clownish boyfriends undergo intensive relationship therapy. Behind the Music launches August 6, with the likes of Lil’ Wayne, Bobby Brown, T.I., Pink and 50 Cent in the upcoming season.

VH1 Classic is celebrating some of America’s most influential music icons this July 4 weekend. From July 2 to 5, the network will air Rock Across America, dedicating one day to each region of the country: the East, Midwest, South and West.
