VH1 Lines Up New & Returning Series

LOS ANGELES: On VH1’s roster of new series are untitled projects featuring Sandra "Pepa" Denton of Salt n Pepa and Chilli from R&B group TLC, as well as a show centered on The Entertainer from I Love New York and I Love Money.

The untitled "Pepa" series is a real-life comedy following Sandra "Pepa" Denton of Salt-n-Pepa fame as she begins to search for love again. The series has been picked up for eight half-hour episodes, set to premiere in 2010. "Chilli" from TLC is also on a search for the love of her life in the yet-to-be titled "Chilli Project." She has enlisted Brooklyn relationship expert Tionna Smalls to help her in her quest. Eight half-hour episodes have been ordered for a 2010 premiere.

The Entertainer will star Frank "The Entertainer" Moresco, who gained fame as the guy who still lives in his parents’ basement from the VH1 shows I Love New York and I Love Money. The series will watch as the 32-year-old tries his shot at love from a group of naive hopefuls, under the close watch of his parents. Ten hour-long episodes of The Entertainment have been ordered for 2010.

VH1 also renewed Celebrity Fit Club for a seventh season 7 and Sober House with Dr. Drew for a second season. These additions come on the heels of recent announcements about upcoming original prime-time series such as Jessica Simpson’s The Price of Beauty; a series centered on the family and career of American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino; The OCD Project, looking at patients with obsessive compulsive disorder living together as they strive to overcome their issues; and The Aspen Project, focusing on the highs and lows of living and dating in one of the wealthiest communities in the world.

"No matter if you’re a Grammy Award-winning artist, a film actor or a TV reality star with millions of loyal fans, we all share the same desires of the human experience…to succeed, to love and to live our lives to their fullest potential," said Jeff Olde, the executive VP of original Programming & Production, VH1. "VH1 has generated a lot of buzz over the years by evolving from an outlet that commented on pop culture to a brand that creates it. With these projects, we’re continuing to evolve, building on our core storytelling expertise to delve deeper into personalities and issues that connect with millions of our viewers."
