Veoh Aligns with Axel Springer

LOS ANGELES, December 22:
Internet TV provider Veoh Networks has inked a strategic partnership with the
European media group Axel Springer as it looks to ramp up its international
expansion plans.

Under the terms of the
agreement, Axel Springer Digital TV Guide will receive sales access to Veoh's
user base in Germany and its German-language viewership in other European
markets. Veoh, meanwhile, will gain ad-sales support from Axel Springer Media
Impact. In addition, the two companies will look into ways to leverage Axel
Springer's digital television solution, My Personal TV DIGITAL, and Veoh's
proprietary technology. "We are very impressed with Veoh's video discovery
capabilities, which could add significant value to our upcoming digital
television service, My Personal TV DIGITAL," said Stephan Zech, the
managing director of Axel Springer Digital TV Guide and publishing director of
TV DIGITAL.

"Internet video is
quickly becoming an important channel for large media companies that want to
extend their digital ad offerings," added Joshua Metzger, the senior VP of
corporate development at Veoh Networks. "We're very pleased to partner
with Axel Springer to not only help European brands connect with more customers
online but also develop new ways to make Internet video an even more essential
part of consumers' online lives."
