MADRID: Vértice 360’s El líder de la manada, hosted by César Millán, will launch at the end of the month on Cuatro in prime time.

Nathalie García, the general director of content production and development at Vértice 360, said “the program is about abandoned dogs and looking for the perfect family for them.”

Powwow, a production house where Vértice 360 has a 50 percent stake, worked with Millán’s agent to make and air the show in Spain. “We have a deal in place with Millán and Powwow to take the format to Latin America and other European territories for local adaptations,” García added.

The show will run for 10 episodes and García stated that it is the first time one of Millán shows will air on Spanish prime time. “Being able to bring top-notch talent to Spain is a great opportunity for us.”

In other news, Vértice 360 is also producing the comedy Con el culo al aire, series that will roll out in prime time on Antena 3 in January. Vértice Sales, spearheaded by Gonzalo Sagardía, general director, will distribute the 13×70-minute format.

Con el culo al aire is a comedy about a group of unemployed people living at a camping site, where many hilarious stories will take place. “It’s a different type of comedy,” said García. “It’s a concept that can be very successful, even in the U.S.”

Asked about the growing number of productions being made in Latin America, particularly Colombia, García commented: “We very interested. Colombia has the right talent. We made Karabudjan for Antena 3 with 80 percent being done in Colombia with Dynamo. It was a great experience. The production values are very good.”

García also mentioned the company is exploring new alternatives with Fox Telecolombia. “They’ve done one of our projects and we’re looking at the possibility of a co-production. I strongly believe in coproduction. With Fox Telecolombia we’ll make a fiction series. They came to see us and we thought this would be the resulting project. It’s an original story.”
