UKTV Gold Acquires British Broadcast Rights for Dancing with the Stars

LONDON, September 10: UKTV Gold bagged the multichannel
British broadcast rights to the new season of ABC’s hit show Dancing with
the Stars
, beginning September 28 at 8 p.m.

The 10-week competition series, now in its fifth season in
the U.S., will become part of a new-look Friday schedule for UKTV Gold. Three
hours of content will be aired each week, kicking off its premiere with a
90-minute intro show.

Hosted by Tom Bergeron (America's Funniest Home Videos) and Samantha Harris (E! Entertainment), Dancing with the Stars features 12 celebrities performing choreographed
dance routines which will be judged by renowned British ballroom judge Len
Goodman and dancers/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba. It is
the U.S. version of the international BBC hit series, Strictly Come
Dancing
. Participants include Britons
Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) and Jane Seymour, as well as Wayne Newton, Marie
Osmond and Mark Cuban.
