U.S. Version of Come Dine with Me Commissioned

LONDON/NEW YORK: ITV Studios America is set to produce a U.S. version of the cookery format Come Dine with Me for BBC Worldwide Channels’ global portfolio of channels, including BBC America.

Production begins on the 10×1-hour show this summer for a 2011 premiere on BBC America, BBC Lifestyle in Asia, Africa, Poland, Scandinavia, Middle East and BBC Entertainment in Latin America. "The U.K. version of Come Dine With Me is already a strong performer on BBC Lifestyle across all territories and we are really excited about adding the U.S. version to the mix," stated David Weiland, senior VP Programming and TV channels at BBC Worldwide Channels. "This deal reinforces our commitment to commission local productions for our channels, in this instance BBC America, and we’re thrilled to be working with ITV Studios to create a U.S. incarnation of the show.”

Paul Buccieri, CEO of ITV Studios in the U.S., added: “Come Dine With Me is a terrific format, successful in over 20 territories around the world. I am delighted to be working with BBC Worldwide Channels at the start of what I hope is a long mutually successful relationship.”

The format follows amateur chefs competing for the title of the ultimate dinner party host. The British version is set to launch this July on BBC America.
