BURBANK: Warner Bros. Animation (WBA) has promoted creative executive Jay Bastian and operations chief Ed Adams.

Bastian has been promoted to senior VP of series. In his new role, he will be charged with identifying properties from the Warner Bros. collection, including Hanna-Barbera, Looney Tunes, DC Entertainment and MGM, to develop for new TV series, short-form content and feature-length projects for home entertainment; working with writers and producers to formulate ideas for original programming; and overseeing ongoing production and current programming matters related to existing shows. He will work closely with Peter Girardi, WBA’s senior VP of creative affairs, and will continue to report to Sam Register, the president of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series.

In his new position as senior VP and general manager, Adams has become the top business and operational executive at WBA. He has oversight of all of the division’s non-production activities. Adams is responsible for day-to-day management of WBA’s business affairs, legal affairs, finance, planning and administration related to the content produced by the company. His new role also includes supervising negotiations of all talent deals, including those with writers, producers, voice performers and more. Both Bastian and Adams joined WBA in 2009.

Register commented: “Jay and Ed have been invaluable members of the Warner Bros. Animation team since they joined the company in 2009. Together with Peter Girardi, they have been instrumental in the growth of the division, and our continued success would not be possible without their many creative and strategic contributions. I am extremely happy to be able to announce their well-deserved promotions.”
