Zinc Media Group Appoints Leader for London Labels

The U.K.-based factual company Zinc Media Group has promoted Greg Sanderson to the post of director of London television operations.

In his new role, Sanderson will help fuel the company’s growth across four of its factual brands, overseeing the labels that operate out of London. The labels include Blakeway, the home of specialist-factual TV and audio content across history, archaeology, natural history, arts and music; Brook Lapping, the home of current affairs and investigations programming; Films of Record, the home of access documentaries; and Reef, which focuses on factual formats and daytime series.

Sanderson joined Zinc Media Group in 2015 as managing director of Brook Lapping. He became interim managing director of Zinc Television London earlier this year.

Mark Browning, CEO of Zinc Media Group, said: “Commissioners are now seeing the benefits of our move to a unified creative team, delivering a full range of factual genres, organized under four distinct labels, operating collaboratively from our new London HQ. Now is the time to have a single leader of this team to oversee the growth in high-quality programs to all our customers. We are seeing a huge amount of interest from the U.S. in our ideas, and our U.K. relationships continue to grow. Our London based labels create a fantastic range of factual television, which, coupled with our well-established Nations and Regions footprint, gives buyers a wide range of factual programs.

“Greg has contributed a huge amount to our transformation plan. He is an experienced and talented program-maker, a great leader and a source of fantastic creative ideas. He’s an asset to our senior team and is the ideal person to help lead our London-based labels through the next phase of growth.”

Sanderson added: “High-quality factual shows are in massive demand on both sides of the Atlantic. Zinc’s huge range of factual expertise and presence across the Nations and Regions, not to mention its extraordinarily talented team, means it’s perfectly placed to make the most of that opportunity. Overseeing four of its leading labels and its London operations is daunting but incredibly exciting.”
