YouTube Star Syndicate to Host New Legends of Gaming

LOS ANGELES: Production has started on the second season of Endemol Beyond USA’s popular eSports show Legends of Gaming, which will be hosted by the YouTube sensation known as Syndicate.

SMASHER Network’s Legends of Gaming is based on the Endemol Beyond UK format of the same name. The 24-episode second season, which sees Pizza Hut return as lead sponsor, will look on as four teams of gamers compete for a trophy. It is due to debut in spring 2016. The show’s new host, who’s real name is Tom Cassell, played in the first seasons of the U.S. and U.K. versions, and in 2014 became the first U.S. gamer to reach one million social media followers.

“We’ve cracked the code with Legends of Gaming on developing a successful eSports entertainment franchise,” said Adrian Sexton, Endemol Beyond USA’s interim president and COO. “And we couldn’t do it without our partners at Pizza Hut, who very early on saw the value and popularity of eSports, and our new host Syndicate with his 11 million individual subscribers. We’re poised to post another high score in our second season.”

“We were pleased with the success of our partnership with Legends of Gaming last year and we’re excited to have the opportunity to come back for a second season,” added David Daniels, the director of media and partnerships for Pizza Hut. “Great pizza and a great eSports platform are the perfect combination and we know that Syndicate and the rest of the team will take it to the next level in season two.”
