Wheeler Dealers Returning on Discovery UK

Discovery has commissioned Wheeler Dealers season 17 and Wheeler Dealers: Dream Cars season two, with U.K.-based producer Betty on board.

The new season of Wheeler Dealers will continue to be fronted by Mike Brewer. Ant Anstead will be departing, with Marc “Elvis” Priestley joining as the new co-host.

The 20×1-hour season will again see Brewer share his enthusiasm for cars as he hunts down iconic motors and uses his expertise to give viewers first-class tips on how to transform them. With the help of Elvis, the pair will reveal their ambitious plans to restore a range of vehicles for a tidy profit all while delving into the compelling design and manufacturing stories of each car.

The 10×1-hour second season of Wheeler Dealers: Dream Cars sees Brewer and Elvis on a mission to help deserving clients obtain cars they could only dream of before.

Simon Downing, senior VP, head of factual and sport at Discovery UK, said: “Bringing Wheeler Dealers back to the U.K. is an exciting moment for us. Motoring is an increasingly important genre at Discovery—and our high-quality productions in this category help drive ratings across pay-TV, free-to-air and digital. Wheeler Dealers is the most successful of these franchises and we’re delighted to super-serve fans with new episodes. We’d like to thank Ant for doing a truly amazing job, he will always remain a member of the Wheeler Dealers family and will be making some special appearances in future episodes. A warm welcome to Marc ‘Elvis’ Priestley who has already proved a hit among fans in the spin-off Dream Car.”

Alex Menzies, CCO of Betty, said: “Everyone at Betty is delighted to have earned the privilege of welcoming the Wheeler Dealers franchise back to its birthplace. We enjoyed a terrific creative relationship with Victoria Noble and the team at Discovery UK on Wheeler Dealers: Dream Cars in 2019 and are looking forward to building on that.”

David Harrison, head of factual and formats at Betty, said: “Wheeler Dealers is beloved around the world and we’re thrilled to be producing the next chapter of the story, taking Mike and Elvis’ passion and skills, transforming some iconic motors and creating must-watch TV for diehard fans and the next generation of viewers.”
