Wag Entertainment Ramps Up True-Crime Pipeline

Wag Entertainment has ramped up its true-crime pipeline with several new series and a feature documentary in production for Channel 5 and 5STAR.

The new commissions include the eight-part Dying for Revenge, which recounts the shocking stories of crimes committed as an act of revenge. From a worker humiliated by a colleague to a woman facing ruin when an ex-partner sells their home, the trigger events are different, but the result is the same: murder.

Dying for Revenge features drama reconstruction, on-location filming and archive, along with interviews with family and friends, insights from detectives who solved each case and analysis from expert criminologists. It is series produced by Richard Turley, with Bridget Boseley and Stephanie Harvie Campbell as executive producers. Fifth Season is distributing the series internationally.

Wag is also in production on a 90-minute feature and a five-part series unravelling true-crime stories in which the killer themselves calls emergency services. In addition, the company is producing a two-part series following the case of a murderer and his lover who duped the authorities for more than 20 years about the crime they had committed.

Wag Entertainment’s true-crime slate already includes Don’t Pick Up the Phone, Instagram’s Worst Con Artist and The Real Fatal Attraction.

“True crime is becoming an increasingly important part of Wag’s slate as we expand the number of genres we’re working in and the broadcasters and streamers we’re producing for,” said Boseley, creative director of Wag Entertainment. “I’m delighted to be cementing our relationship with Channel 5 with these latest commissions.”
