TVF International Sends New Docs to Iberia

TVF International has inked a slew of deals in Iberia for documentaries across a range of genres.

Portugal TVI acquired a package of titles including The Term: Opposing Putin, which tells the inside story of the grassroots opposition movement in Russia, from Alexei Navalny to Pussy Riot.

The Portugal TVI package also includes Diana: The New Evidence and Harry: Warrior Prince.

Multicanal picked up Dunhuang: Ancient Frontier Fortress for Canal Historia. The five-part series tells the story of the Silk Road Frontier town through dramatic recreations, new archaeological discoveries and expert insights. For Canal Odisea, Multicanal licensed Skyworks’ Aerial Profiles season three and To the Rescue.

In Spain and Andorra, Telefonica bought the BBC science docuseries Rain: The Untold Story, examining how rain has shaped civilizations. TV3 licensed Me and My Penis and 100 Vaginas, both originally commissioned by Channel 4, in which British artists create intimate photographic portraits encouraging individuals to rethink the way they view their bodies.

“It is brilliant to see such a range of factual content picked up by Iberian broadcasters this year,” said Colette Webber, sales executive for Iberia. “From provocative Channel 4 docs and current affairs titles to ancient Asian history and heartwarming fact-ent. series, I am so pleased that titles from across our catalog are finding homes with Portuguese and Spanish broadcasters.”
