This Is a Robbery Docuseries Set for Netflix

The forthcoming Netflix original docuseries This Is a Robbery will chronicle the world’s biggest art heist across four episodes.

Over St. Patrick’s Day weekend in 1990, works by Rembrandt, Vermeer and others worth over half a billion dollars in today’s money were stolen from Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. From director Colin Barnicle, This Is a Robbery covers the leads, dead ends, lucky breaks and speculations that characterized the investigation of this still-unsolved heist. It is slated to launch on Netflix on April 7.

Colin Barnicle is an executive producer on the project alongside Nick Barnicle, Tribeca Film’s Jane Rosenthal and Berry Welsh, as well as Linda Henry. This is the first Netflix project from the Barnicle Brothers, who are best known for their sports projects. It is also their first official partnership with Rosenthal and Welsh.
