Rare TV has received second-season orders from the BBC for the prime-time series Mountain Vets and Tagged: Life On Lockdown.

Picked up again for BBC Two, Mountain Vets is a six-part series set in Northern Ireland’s ancient Kingdom of Mourne, where animals outnumber people ten to one. Revisiting the mountain vets, nurses and stable hands who work across three very different practices, viewers can witness them caring for such animals as rare five-legged calves, overweight cats and orphaned seals.

Rory Wheeler, Rare TV’s creative director, said: “It shows great faith on the part of the BBC to commission series two of Mountain Vets before series one has even been broadcast. But it’s a fabulous show, full of warmth and wonderful characters—animal as well as human—so we’re confident that the BBC’s faith will be repaid with dividends.”

Tagged: Life On Lockdown, ordered for BBC Three, returns to follow the lives of three young people who have been mandated to wear electronic tags, giving an unflinching look at the reality of life under strict curfew. It is directed by Joshua Haddow.

Wheeler added: “Tagged: Life On Lockdown reflects back to a BBC Three audience the choices and consequences they face every day as they attempt to define who they are, offering a non-judgmental look into the lives of Britain’s young people.”
