Smithsonian Channel Renews Mystic Britain

Smithsonian Channel has ordered a second season of Mystic Britain, with ten new episodes set to be hosted by television and radio presenter Clive Anderson and anthropologist Mary-Ann Ochota.

Continuing a tour through Britain’s landscapes, Anderson and Ochota investigate more strange and sacred beliefs from the country’s past with the help of scientists, archaeologists and historians. For Mystic Britain’s second season, episodes will include “Viking Warrior Mystery,” “The Runes of Maeshowe,” “Hunting King Arthur” and more.

Produced by Blink Films for Smithsonian Networks, season one of Mystic Britain premiered in the U.K. in April to a warm reception. It is currently airing on Smithsonian Channel in the U.S. on Mondays at 9 p.m.

David Royle, chief programming officer at Smithsonian Networks, said: “Mystic Britain will once again serve as Smithsonian Channel’s all-access guide to the odd, unusual and downright wacky histories of Britain’s sacred and supernatural past. Clive and Mary Ann’s unique and personal perspectives lend themselves to telling these varied mystical stories in both a hilarious and illuminating way.”
