Smithsonian Channel Launches on Brazil’s BluTV

Smithsonian Channel has launched on BluTV, expanding its presence in Brazil.

Smithsonian Channel launched in Brazil in April 2019. Since then, it has offered local audiences quality programming across history, travel, air and space, science, nature and pop culture. In Brazil, the channel’s content, including all local production curatorship, is overseen by Silvia Jafet, director of the international area of ​​Newco Pay TV.

In September, Smithsonian Channel received six Emmy nominations, of which the network earned two wins for the series Epic Yellowstone (Outstanding Cinematography) and America’s Hidden Stories: Mystery at Jamestown (Outstanding Lighting Direction and Scenic Design).
