Passion Adds Magic-Themed Content & More to Catalog

LONDON: Passion Distribution has snapped up the rights for the Dynamo specials Dynamo: Live at the O2 and Dynamo: A-Z, as well as the entertainment series The Next Great Magician and The Dressing Room.

Dynamo: Live at the O2 sees Dynamo become the first magician ever to headline London’s O2 arena, while Dynamo A-Z follows the performer on an alphabetical journey with his magic, illusion and sleight of hand. The latter title will feature such celebrity guests as Chris Martin. Both hour-long specials were produced by Phil McIntyre Television and Inner Circle Films for UKTV’s W.

The Next Great Magician is a new entertainment program from Derren Brown’s Vaudeville Productions in association with Crook Productions for ITV. The 6×60-minute show looks on as the world’s best magicians compete for the title of The Next Great Magician and their own television special.

The Dressing Room is a fixed-rig reality entertainment series that follows the sporting season of a number of different clubs across the country and the action that takes place in the dressing room. The 6×60-minute show is a co-production between SVT Productions and GroupM Entertainment for W.

Emmanuelle Namiech, the CEO of Passion Distribution, stated: “We are delighted to partner with UKTV again to bring to international audiences some of the U.K.’s most entertaining new content. The Dressing Room is an innovative, heartwarming series featuring the highs and lows of amateur sports teams that will resonate with audiences, whether as behind the scenes of the U.K. sporting communities or as a local adaptation. We are also excited to add the new Dynamo specials to our portfolio—Dynamo has experienced worldwide success with his unique style of magic and both specials showcase the very best of his live show and series. We are thrilled to partner with Vaudeville Productions and Crook Productions [on] The Next Great Magician, which is pure un-missable magical entertainment with truly amazing illusions and incredible escapes.”
