MotorTrend Appoints New Head of Programming & Development

Mike Suggett, a creative executive, producer and programmer at MotorTrend Group, has been named head of programming and development for the Discovery company.

In his new position, Suggett will lead the global strategy for MotorTrend’s automotive-focused video platforms. He is also responsible for developing the programming and scheduling strategies for both the MotorTrend app, the company’s SVOD product, and for MotorTrend TV. Suggett is based in Los Angeles.

Suggett has more than 13 years of experience in developing original programming, production, cross-platform content strategy and integrated video marketing solutions. Most recently, he served as the company’s VP of original programming. He has played a key role in the production and development of several MotorTrend series, including Roadkill, Dirt Every Day, Hot Rod Garage and the upcoming Top Gear America (working title).

Prior to MotorTrend Group, Suggett worked at E! Entertainment Television and at Eye Candy Post and directed marketing and promotional campaigns for large automotive brands, including Toyota/Scion and Acura.
