Mind of a Murderer Among Passion’s Factual Sales

LONDON: Passion Distribution has placed several factual entertainment and true-crime titles with international broadcasters, including Foxtel, which acquired season two of Mind of a Murderer.

Additionally, Foxtel in Australia has taken the docudrama Dead of Winter: The Donner Party. Discovery Networks Southern Europe, meanwhile, signed on for seasons two and three of Prospectors. In Spain, Discovery snapped up the second-window rights for the first two seasons of Klondike for its Discovery MAX channel.

Discovery in Italy, meanwhile, picked up more than 60 hours of programming, including the second and third seasons of Prospectors, as well as the 8×1-hour Weather Gone Viral. Discovery also licensed content from Passion’s true-crime catalogue. Among those acquisitions are Mail Order Murder, seasons one and two of Stalked and Frenemies, and the documentaries Escorts and The Rarest Boy in the World.

In France, RMC Découverte scooped up a package totaling more than 65 hours of programming. The deal covers the first four seasons of Prospectors, seasons one and two of Klondike Gold Fever and season three of Timber Kings. In addition, AB Group in France went for 3 Scientists Walk into a Bar, while TFI acquired the second season of Tornado Alley for Ushuaïa TV.

The first and second seasons of Fat Guys in the Woods, as well as the 10×1-hour Heli-Loggers, have been picked up by BBC Worldwide for its BBC Brit channel in Poland. BBC Worldwide also licensed the 12th season of Traffic Cops for BBC Brit in Africa. All seasons of Traffic Cops are headed to the UKTV channel in New Zealand.

In the U.K., meanwhile, Sony Pictures Entertainment picked up a host of titles, including Batman Shootings, Captive for 18 Years: The Jaycee Lee Story, Stacey Dooley: Beaten by My Boyfriend, Cutting Edge: The Black Widow, Why Did Oscar Pistorius Kill Our Daughter?, The Cleveland Captives: What Really Happened? and Wife, Mom & Bounty Hunter for its True Crime channel.

In Asia, True Thailand licensed Timber Kings season two. ABS-CBN in the Philippines acquired the documentaries Rich Kids of Social Media, Charlie Hebdo: 3 Days of Terror and Unreported World.
