SILVER SPRING: Disappeared, a true-crime series about missing-persons cases, is slated to return to Investigation Discovery for a seventh season after a three-year hiatus.

The series debuted on Investigation Discovery in 2010 and ran for five consecutive seasons, ending in 2013. ID then aired a season made up of four specials in 2014 and 2015. Produced by NBC News’ production arm, Peacock Productions, each episode of Disappeared takes viewers inside the world of a family holding out hope that their missing loved one will be found. The show’s latest ten-episode run is due out April 11 at 10 p.m.

Disappeared was one of the cornerstone series that helped launch ID, and our viewers have told us time and again that there’s nothing else like it on television,” said Kevin Bennett, the general manager of Investigation Discovery. “After listening to their outcry to cover more cases, we realized that Disappeared isn’t just a part of ID’s DNA, it’s also an important tool to help families and law enforcement bring much needed attention to heartbreaking cold cases.”

“It is an honor that the families and loved ones of those missing along with law enforcement working to find them, put their trust in Peacock Productions to allow us to share their most painful stories,” said Sharon Scott, the president and general manager of Peacock Productions. “We are looking forward to working with Investigation Discovery to bring back this powerful series.”
